Freshmen Ken Keyan, left, and Jackson Spangler listen to the rules of the 1/2 court shot contest from Jason Perry during half-time at the Northview-Southview boys basketball game Tuesday.
The Sylvania Area Athletic Foundation will receive a $5,000 donation from Vin Devers AutoHaus of Sylvania, as part of the halftime shooting contest during the Northview-Southview boys basketball game Tuesday.
A student from each school, selected in a drawing, tried to shoot a basket from midcourt.
Keyan Marshall from Southview and Jackson Spangler from Northview, each made shots during the contest, making the foundation $5,000 richer.
Fans in the audience were given prizes for being at the event.

The monetary donation will be “used for outdoor athletic renovations at Northview and Southview,” Sylvania Schools spokesman Nancy Crandell said.
A donation check will be presented in February.
Prior to the game, A new Audi was parked outside the school as a promotion and to get students excited about participating in the event, Ms. Crandall said.
