The Christ Child Society of Toledo, consisting of many Sylvania area members, held its annual All-Day Retreat at the Lial Renewal Center in Whitehouse on Oct. 25.
Sister Joan Marie Recker, SND, the retreat director, guided the group through a Day of Fall Reflection theme of being loved and discovering a new depth of self awareness. The day’s spiritual journey included presentations, imagery meditations, quiet times, and conversations.
The 35 women enjoyed the beautiful setting by walking the paths through the meadow and relaxing by the lake. Sharon Henning the chairperson for the day was assisted by the Spirituality Team members Mary Bell, Rena Brooks, Jane Charette, Mary Murnen, Jan Purinton, and Ann Welly.
The Christ Child Society is a national organization founded in 1887 dedicated to the welfare of children, especially children in need. The Toledo chapter, organized in 1990, has been a voice for disadvantaged children in the community for over 20 years through their many programs.
