Sylvania's Highland Elementary students will make “Looms of Love” bracelets on Oct. 7 for children at the Toledo Children’s Hospital.
This project is the start of the school’s month of empathy and the theme “Walking in Someone Else’s Shoes,” organized by the school counselor, Andrea Hoffman. Hoffman has engaged nearly the entire 648 students and staff in reaching out to those in need with a little bit of love and encouragement.
During the week of Oct. 7–11, nearly all of the students and staff will be making the bracelets during their lunch or recess.
Mrs. Hoffman plans to deliver hundreds of the Highland bracelets and notes to children at the Toledo Children’s Hospital during October.
Highland Elementary is at 7720 Erie St.
