The Village of Whitehouse will hold its Founders Day celebration today from 5:30 to 10:15 p.m. The family event will be at the Whitehouse Village Hall, 6925 Providence St., next to the Nona France Quarry. The celebration features live music by Mt. Fuji & the Eruptions, hot dogs and brats cooked by the Whitehouse Fire Company, kids games and activities, a live auction, and a fireworks display sponsored by the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce. The City of Toledo's Outdoor Summer Concert Series in the Glyn M. Smith Amphitheater at Ottawa Park begins Saturday with a performance by blues band the Grey Devils. The concerts are free and all performances begin at 6 p.m. The other acts are the Pet Names, July 14; Glass City Steel, July 21; DeZire, July 28; Bobby Holloway, Aug. 4, and On the Beach, Aug. 11.

The Mennofolk Festival will take place Friday through Sunday on the Bluffton University campus featuring three stages of performers from Mennonite backgrounds. Singer/songwriters, roots music, and hymns will be featured. Performances are open to the general public. Tickets are $15 for a weekend pass and children 12 and younger are free.
