Motorcycle run, car show in Oregon Saturday
8/8/2013The Big Ride for the Little Sisters Motorcycle Run and Crusin' by the Park Classic Car Show will be Saturday on the grounds of the Sacred Heart Home on the corner of Navarre Avenue and South Wynn Road, across from Pearson Metropark in Oregon.
Festivities will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include music by Rockin Ron's Mobile DJ Service, barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, door prizes, 50/50 raffles, and a summer raffle of $250, $500, and $1,000 cash prizes.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. for the "Big Ride for the Little Sisters." Riders will depart for Marblehead Lighthouse at 11 a.m. Registration is $25 per person and $30 for two and includes coffee and doughnuts. Vehicle registration for the car show is from 9 a.m. to noon. A parade will be at 1 p.m., judging at 2 p.m, and awards will be presented at 3 p.m. Car registration is $10 and includes a goodie bag and dash plaque. Information: 419-698-4331.

River Raisin National Battlefield Park will unveil a revolving art exhibit during an open house Saturday morning. The exhibit, which will run through Labor Day, features 2013 bicentennial artwork as well as works from previous bicentennial art contests. Pieces from local artists featuring early Frenchtown themes and the Battle of the River Raisin will be on exhibit. The unveiling will begin at 10 a.m. and includes refreshments.
