Hand-blown glass ornaments are typical of the arts and crafts that will be available at Heralding the Holiday events at Toledo Botanical Garden this weekend.

Heralding the Holidays at Toledo Botanical Garden will be Friday through Sunday, with plenty of arts and crafts, entertainment, food, horse-drawn wagon rides, and Santa.

The Toledo Artists’ Club, which has a building in the garden, will sell 100 5-inch-by-7-inch paintings for $20 each. Cottages in Artists Village will be open, along with Seasons Gift Shop, and the conference center will be full of jewelry, pottery, glass, textiles, paintings, photography, lawn art, housewares, fairy gardens, soaps, lotions, honey, mustards, jams, herbs, and baked goods.

Free wagon rides will be given Friday, when there will be children’s crafts and activities, and storytellers in the Navarre Cabin. People can sign up to make a hand-blown glass ornament with the Toledo Glass Guild for $20.

And the Lithophane Museum will be open. Admission is free. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

    ● Dozens of creatives will sell their work in the Holiday Art Trail in Sylvania, 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at 13 galleries, studios, and other venues.

Included are the American and Hudson galleries, Lourdes University, and a pop-up gallery on Maplewood Avenue near Main Street. It’s organized by the Sylvania Community Arts Commission. Information: 419-517-0118. A map is at SylvaniaArts.org.

Artist George Carruth will sign his work at Garden Smiles on Mechanic Street during Waterville’s Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Avancer Studio in Peddler’s Alley on Farnsworth Street will take free portraits with Santa from 1 to 3 that will be posted on Facebook, and some restaurants are offering free meals for kids under 12.

    ● A Holiday Cafe and Craft Show in Metroparks Hall at Wildwood Preserve Metropark will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday through Dec. 15.
