Great Lakes group to hold fundraiser

■ The Great Lakes Historical Society will hold its annual H2Oh! fund-raiser on Saturday to benefit the historical society and its new National Museum of the Great Lakes. H2Oh! will feature authentically prepared cuisine from Great Lakes freighters. Auction items will include a cruise and dinner aboard a national award-winning sailboat. There will also be a silent auction and raffle baskets, a drawing for the 2013 Luck of the Lakes Raffle, and a sneak peek at the new museum. The event will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at 1701 Front St. Tickets are $75 in advance and can be purchased by calling 440-967-3467, extension 6. Tickets will be available for $85 at the door.

■ The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will kick off its holiday concert series Monday at the Main library. The five-day event will feature the sounds of the season from a variety of artists across several music genres. The live performances are scheduled from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. First up is harp and violin duo Susan Hedler and Cecilia Johnson. On Tuesday, the Ottawa Hills High School Choraliers will perform, followed by the Masterworks Chorale on Wednesday and the Sylvania Northview High School Jazz Cats and Jazz Band on Thursday. The Toledo School for the Arts Holiday Orchestral Ensemble will close out the series on Friday. The event, sponsored by the Library Legacy Foundation and Friends of the Library, is free.
