Actor and stand-up comedian Jimmie "JJ" Walker will share his observations on life and his career in a stand-up show Saturday at Hollywood Casino. Walker is best known for his portrayal of J.J. Evans and his catch phrase "Dyn-o-mite!" on the 1970s television show Good Times. He has made numerous television and movie appearances and hosted radio shows on four stations. The show begins at 10:30 p.m. in the H Lounge. Admission is free and guests must be age 21 or older to attend. Standing room only.

■Singer/storyteller Livingston Taylor will perform at Monroe County Community College's La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The concert is part of events in honor of the the 50th anniversary of MCCC and the 10th anniversary of the La-Z-Boy Center and Meyer Theater. Taylor's career spans more than four decades. Among his Top 40 hits are his own recordings, I Will Be in Love with You and I'll Come Running, as well as two songs he wrote that were recorded by his brother James – I Can Dream of You and Boatman. Tickets for reserved seating are $22. VIP seating is $32 and includes balcony seating, munchies, and a cash bar. ■The 2014 Seneca County Maple Fest takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Snavely's Sugar Shack, 9409 E. Twp. Rd. 138, four miles north of Republic, Ohio, between State Rts. 18 and 19. Guests can learn how maple syrup is made, make candy, and watch as sap is drawn from some of the 1,200 taps on the farm. The Seneca Masonic Lodge 790 will serve pancakes, sausage and ice cream that can be topped with fresh maple syrup. The festival is free.
