Services, advice for homeowners at weekend show

The Kitchen Salon will hold free presentations on transitioning to natural hair styles

More than 300 exhibitors will be at SeaGate Convention Centre this weekend at the 2014 PRO Home Improvement & Garden Show. Contractors, roofing and pool specialists, landscapers, builders, alternative energy experts, supply vendors, and many more will offer services and advice to Toledo area homeowners. The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Special features include a working hydroponic display, fresh flower garden, and workshops on such topics as wall decorating, ways to organize, and hardscaping made easy. On Saturday, Anita Lopez, Lucas County auditor, will talk about home values. Also, Toledo's Own Antique Road Show, antique appraisers, will appraise one item per guest.

Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors age 60 and older. Active duty military personnel and children age 12 and under are admitted free. ■The Kitchen Salon presents Natural Hair, Natural Care, a mini series of presentations on hair loss, transitioning to natural hair, and Q & A. The event will conclude with the official product launch of the Kitchen Salon natural products. This free event will be 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Red Roof Inn at 1570 S. ■The Way Library in Perrysburg and floral designer Lynn Fleure have teamed up to teach area residents the basics of floral arrangements. Visitors will learn flower basket composition while creating an original fresh arrangement to take home. The class will be at 2 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the library's lower level.
