‘Legends’ to perform at Hollywood Casino

■ Hollywood Casino will kick off its Hollywood Concert Series this weekend with Legends in Concert. Free shows are scheduled for 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday and will feature impersonators who bring the music and personalities of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Madonna to life. The series features special performances from a wide array of artists, including country singer/songwriter Jamey Johson, Robby Krieger's Jam Kitchen, alternative band Chevelle, rhythm and blues crooner Maxwell, Wilson Phillips, and Smokey Robinson later this summer. ■Peg and Cat from PBS Kids' new show Peg + Cat, along with "SuperWhy!," the star of another popular PBS Kids show, will stop by the East Toledo Family Center Saturday for a day of fun. From 1 to 4 p.m. the characters will host hands-on and educational activities for children ages 2 to 8. This event, sponsored by WGTE Media, is free. The East Toledo Family Center is at 1020 Varland Ave.

■Get ready for some "tail-waggin' fun" at the Toledo Area Metroparks' 11th annual MetroBarks Canine Festival. The festivities will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday with entertainment, food, rescue/adoption groups, and vendor booths. The winner of this year's Blade Pet Idol contest will be announced at the festival, which is free. Registration is not required. Information: metroparkstoledo.com.
