3-day event to benefit arts council in Port Clinton

    Appetite for the Arts will be Friday through Sunday in the new hangar behind the Liberty Aviation Museum at the Erie-Ottawa International Airport. It kicks off with a gala from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, with tickets priced at $75; admission is free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will be artist booths and food, a children’s area, and on Sunday, a Fly In/​Drive In pancake breakfast. The event is a fund-raiser for the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council.     Fluid Motion of the Sub-Conscious and Soul: The Rhythm of Abstract Expressionism, expressionist paintings by Linda Pertusati, is on view through September at Way Public Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg.

    LeSo Gallery, 1527 Starr Ave., opens Cryptids, featuring three people who create work both real and surreal. Cryptozoology is the study of creatures, often legendary ones such as Bigfoot, not proven to exist. Ranging from absurd and fantastic to curiously lifelike, there are digital works by Clifton Harvey and sculptural works by Dan Chudzinski and Jose Herrera. A closing reception featuring artist talks will be 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 22. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Information: contact@lesogallery.com.

    ● LeSo Gallery seeks work for its juried exhibit, Overture III. Deadline is Sept. 7 and people can enter up to four images of their work, $7 per image. Accepted submissions will be announced Sept. 14 and the show will open Oct. 4. Information: www.LeSoGallery.com/​opportunities.

    ● The Art Show, noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 21, will be in conjunction with Wander the Warehouse, at which $10 tickets will permit access to tour five lofts and homes in the north end of downtown.     ● Deadline is Sept. 8 for an Ann Arbor show Oct. 6 to Dec. 15 in the Rackham Graduate School building at the University of Michigan.     The Lenawee County Historical Museum displays fabric arts of the past in Home Craft: Historic Quilts, Needlework, and Decorative Arts of Lenawee County, through December. A talk, Hanging By A Thread: Caring For Vintage Textiles and Clothing, will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 by Fran Faile, textile conservator at the Henry Ford since 2000. The free museum is at 110 E.
