A man who ran from Perrysburg Township police after a traffic stop Thursday night was arrested yesterday morning after spending the night in a truck on Simmons Road, authorities said.

Lawrence H. Szydlowski, 44, of no known address, was spotted by a township officer in a field near the intersection of Simmons and Clark Drive at 8:20 a.m., 12 hours after police stopped his westbound vehicle on State Rt. 20 near Simmons.

He was booked into the Wood County jail on charges of resisting arrest and obstructing an officer in the performance of his duty, both misdemeanors. Bond was set at $20,000, with his arraignment scheduled for Monday in Perrysburg Municipal Court.

Police said Mr. Szydlowski had been charged with several misdemeanor theft offenses and had outstanding warrants for failure to appear in Perrysburg and Toledo municipal courts.
