TEMPERANCE - A man with a handgun robbed a Temperance area credit union yesterday of an undetermined amount of money, Monroe County sheriff's deputies said.

The man walked into the United Catholic Credit Union, 8110 Lewis Ave., about 1:05 p.m., showed a teller a silver handgun, and demanded and received money, deputies said.

Witnesses told authorities the man fled southbound on Lewis in a newer white Toyota Corolla with no license plate.

The suspect was described as being white, in his early 30s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing between 185 and 200 pounds, with short, curly, dark blond hair. He was wearing a navy blue and yellow nylon jogging suit, a dark-colored round-brimmed fishing hat, and dark sunglasses, deputies said.
