CLYDE, Ohio - Firefighters were continuing yesterday to investigate a downtown fire that caused $100,000 damage to a hardware store and four apartments in this northwest Ohio city.
Fire Chief Mike Andrews said residents in apartments above the store escaped.
Emergency workers had to use a ladder to rescue a woman and two children in one of the apartments.
No cause of the Tuesday night fire has been determined, but the chief said he believes it began in a closet on the second floor.
