DEFIANCE - A man robbed a KeyBank branch of an undisclosed amount of money after claiming he was armed with a bomb yesterday.

He was arrested in Paulding County after leading police on a car chase, authorities said.

The man, whose identity was unknown last night, was charged with aggravated robbery.

He was held in the Paulding County jail, where he was questioned last night.

The robber entered the bank at 4:05 p.m., told bank employees he was carrying a bomb, grabbed the money, and fled in a car, Toledo FBI Agent Lou Genide said.

Defiance police and Defiance County sheriff's deputies chased the car south out of the city and south on State Rt. 111 into the Paulding County, where they were joined by deputies there.

The car went out of control and crashed in a field. It was a fairly lengthy pursuit, Defiance police Chief Norm Walker said.
