BOWLING GREEN — A rural Bowling Green man who tried to evade sheriff's deputies was indicted yesterday by a Wood County grand jury on one count of having weapons while under disability.

Gregory Euler, 46, is to be arraigned July 1 in Wood County Common Pleas Court by Judge Robert Pollex. He was arrested on numerous charges May 21 after sheriff's Sgt. Russ Youngpeter spotted him sleeping in the driver's seat of his car along Belmore Road in southern Wood County.

The sergeant said he also noticed a 16-gauge shotgun on the seat near the suspect. Convicted felons cannot legally possess firearms.

Euler reportedly drove off, leading officers on a slow-moving chase that ended near Oil Center and Potter roads.
