Toledo police issued a warrant charging a man with a shooting Thursday night after which the wounded victim drove himself to police headquarters downtown.

Danny J. Witcher II, 24, of 556 Pleasant Place, was charged with one count of felonious assault in the shooting of Rollin Lawson, 34, of Toledo.

The suspect is accused of firing at least 10 shots from a handgun, hitting the victim once in the left leg, according to court records.

The victim drove to police headquarters after he was shot in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Collingwood Boulevard. He was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

About 90 minutes later, Bobby Patterson of Toledo was shot in the left foot as he was walking in the 1500 block of Freeman Street.

He told police he was carrying a DVD player when he was approached by an unknown suspect with a gun. The suspect demanded the DVD player, shot the victim in the foot, and then took the electronic device.

The victim was taken to Toledo Hospital.
