IDA, Mich. — The 54-year-old son of a prominent Ida family physician was arraigned in Monroe County First District Court yesterday on three felony counts of practicing medicine without a license.

Larry Lammers is being held in the Monroe County jail in lieu of $250,000 bond. The son of Dr. Gerald Lammers, he was arraigned before District Court Judge Mark Braunlich.

Maj. Tom Scott, of the county sheriff's office, said the younger Lammers was arrested Monday after he attempted to open a medical office in Dundee, Mich. He allegedly had been treating patients at his father's office in Ida since at least September.

Larry Lammers previously was convicted of practicing medicine without a license in both Florida and Kentucky, Major Scott said.

Both states have requested copies of warrants from Monroe County so that they may revoke his probation, Major Scott said. Authorities from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General also participated in the raids at the homes and businesses of Dr. Lammers and his son.
