Port Clinton man indicted in bar fight

PORT CLINTON - A Port Clinton man was indicted yesterday on four felony counts and several misdemeanor charges in connection with a bar fight in which he allegedly resisted arrest by police officers.

Jason E. Welch, 24, is charged with two counts each of assault of a peace officer and vandalism, both felonies. He also is charged with assault, disorderly conduct with persistence, resisting arrest, and aggravated menacing.

According to authorities, Mr. Welch hit another customer at a Port Clinton bar May 8 and became combative with officers who were trying to remove him from the business.

Also indicted by the Ottawa County grand jury were Danny H. Barker, 51, of Port Clinton on two counts of domestic violence and Paul D. Pressley, 39, of Toledo on eight counts of criminal nonsupport.
