Toledoan stabbed, man is charged with assault

A Toledo man was stabbed inside his downtown-area apartment at 1:30 a.m. yesterday and was admitted to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

By late afternoon, the victim's condition had been upgraded to serious, the hospital said.

Tony Fiorillo of 111 South Summit St. was hospitalized for multiple stab wounds. Police later booked a man into the Lucas County jail on a felonious assault charge. Authorities declined to release further information.
