A 22-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck during a fight at her apartment last night, and police were searching for her ex-boyfriend who earlier in the day had been ordered to leave the residence.
The woman was in surgery last night in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, police said. Her name and condition were not available.
Police said a man called 911 at 8:48 p.m. and told them he had been stabbed at 5555 Lewis Ave., Apt. 124. When they arrived, they found the woman with a stab wound on the balcony of the second-floor apartment.
Sgt. Bob Maxwell said she told police her attacker had fled and identified him as her 28-year-old ex-boyfriend. Police had gone to the house at 11:22 a.m. yesterday to escort the man from her apartment, Sgt. Maxwell said.
