MONROE - A Petersburg, Mich., man will face three felony explosives counts in Monroe County Circuit Court after waiving a preliminary examination Monday before First District Judge Terrence Bronson.

Kyle Hamstreet, 18, of 8595 Summerfield Rd. is alleged to have used a series of homemade explosive devices to blow up a number of mailboxes in southern and western Monroe County over the last five months, Monroe County Prosecutor Mike Weipert said.

Mr. Hamstreet, who was arrested earlier this month by sheriff's deputies, has been released from the county jail on a personal recognizance bond.
