Slaying suspect is ordered held without bond

WAUSEON - The 24-year-old Lucas County man accused in the murder Feb. 14 of his disabled father-in-law will be held without bond, Fulton County Common Pleas Court Judge James E. Barber decided yesterday.

Attorneys Spiros P. Cocoves and Mark C. Geudtner are to represent Jonathan Ray Haas.

Mr. Haas was indicted on two counts of aggravated murder, which carry the possibility of the death penalty, along with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, burglary, and theft of the narcotic pain reliever OxyContin from the eastern Fulton County home of his father-in-law, James Daniel Briscoe, 56. Mr. Briscoe was felled with a rifle shot.

Mr. Haas is to be arraigned March 10.
