A man and a woman accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl were arraigned yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Ricardo Martinez, 48, of 1311 Vinal St. pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition. Misty Davis, 19, of 460 1/2 Potter St. pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape. Judge Denise Dartt continued their cases to Wednesday for a pretrial hearing.

The girl told investigators Ms. Davis and her boyfriend, Jeff Lauharn, 26, who is a registered sex offender, engaged in sexual activity with her at the Potter address on three occasions from October through November.

Lauharn, who also uses the last names Larahnard and Parkhurst, is registered in the county as a sexual predator. He was convicted in 1998 of gross sexual imposition.

He was indicted on two counts of rape. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment last week and is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Mr. Martinez is accused of engaging in sexual activity with the victim from June, 2003, when she was 11 years old, to January, 2004, at a residence in East Toledo. He is being held in the jail in lieu of $125,000 bond.

Ms. Davis is being held in the jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
