ALVORDTON, Ohio - A Mill Creek Township man who allegedly threatened to harm family members yesterday and then refused to surrender to Williams County sheriff's deputies has been charged with two counts of aggravated menacing.

After a 20-minute standoff, deputies arrested Ronnie D. Ruetz, 62, of Williams County Road R. They also took a 22-caliber rifle from him. He was taken to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, and, after an evaluation by First Call for Help, a mental health agency, was admitted, deputies said.

The sheriff's office was responding to a call received about 7:50 a.m., which reported that a man who was quarreling with family members had left his home, returned with a gun, and said he would harm them.

Mr. Ruetz will appear in Bryan Municipal Court after he is released from the hospital, deputies said.
