Three Toledo men who are accused in a break-in and safe-cracking at a Sylvania Township pharmacy were indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.

William L. Arnold, 31, of 426 Havre St.; Timothy L. Tallman, 26, of 1442 Colton St., and Daniel T. Matney, 21, of 1239 Prouty Ave. were each indicted on one count of breaking and entering, theft, possessing criminal tools, and safecracking.

The men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the break-in earlier that day at Aring's Compound Corner at 6725 West Central Ave. They were arraigned in Sylvania Municipal Court and are being held in the Lucas County jail.

Police said Mr. Arnold waited in a car while the other suspects pried open a back door of an adjoining vacant store, using a sledgehammer to knock a hole in the wallboard to the pharmacy, and took money and two safes.

The break-in activated a security alarm, and responding officers found Mr. Arnold in a parked car in the Carrietowne subdivision. Officers said he later admitted to police he had dropped the others off and was waiting for them to call to tell him to pick them up.
