Police seek trio who hit woman

10/15/2005

Toledo police are seeking through the Crime Stopper program the identities of three males who assaulted a 76-year-old woman Sunday in South Toledo, striking her on the face with a silver weapon, believed to be a handgun.

The woman, who had just returned from playing bingo, was stepping from her vehicle at her home in the 1200 block of Wenz Road about 11 p.m. when three males, apparently teenagers, approached her, police said.

One of the males said, "Give me your key." She refused and was struck on the face. She continued to refuse to give the assailants her keys, and they fled.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward.
