Michigan man arrested after high-speed chase

EDON, Ohio A Camden, Mich., man led authorities on a high-speed chase Friday night from Williams County s Florence Township north of Edon to his Michigan home, officials said.

Clinton W. Hukill, 23, of 2671 West Territorial Rd., was being held in the Hillsdale County jail awaiting extradition to Ohio, Williams County sheriff s deputies said. He was charged by Michigan authorities with operating a vehicle while impaired, and felony fleeing and eluding by the Williams County Sheriff s Office. Other charges are pending investigation, deputies said.

Deputies were called about 11:45 p.m. to investigate a trespassing complaint at 04279 Williams County Road M and found Mr. Hukill leaving the scene in a pickup. When deputies attempted to stop him, he fled.

During the roughly 15-mile chase, Mr. Hukill sped and ran several stop signs, deputies said.

With the help of the Hillsdale County sheriff s office and the Michigan State Police, he was arrested shortly after midnight at his home.
