7/8/2006

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a shooting this week that seriously injured a Toledo man.

Mario Kea, 32, was in critical condition yesterday in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

He was shot in the head on North Detroit Avenue near Council Street about 3:15 a.m. Sunday. He was in an SUV with three friends when he was shot by a man in another vehicle.

Police believe the vehicles were involved in some sort of mishap and pulled next to one another on North Detroit. Words were exchanged, and the gunman fired into the SUV.

Witnesses told police the assailant's vehicle, which also had three women inside, was a white Dodge Magnum with a black top. The car fled south on I-75, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous.
