ANN ARBOR - Two University of Michigan students were arrested early Thursday after police said they threw a dresser drawer from their second-floor apartment balcony at two men walking on the sidewalk.

The students were charged with felonious assault and intimidation for shouting derogatory remarks about the men's sexual orientation. The drawer smashed into several pieces a few feet behind the men, police told The Ann Arbor News.

A 24-year-old man told officers he and his friend quickly walked away after the dresser landed behind them and called police.

Police found four people in the apartment and two of them, a 21-year-old and 22-year-old, admitted to throwing the drawer. Ann Arbor police Sgt. Richard Kinsey said the men likely would be arraigned Thursday or Friday.
