A Toledo man who led Washington Township police on a chase Thursday morning reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour crashed his motorcycle in the city s north end several minutes after officers stopped their pursuit, authorities said.

Daniel Fry, 34, of 6126 Northtowne Drive, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available Thursday morning.

According to police, Mr. Fry was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Alexis Road about 2:50 a.m. He stopped for a red light at Enterprise Boulevard and continued east on Alexis, police said.

A Washington Township officer activated his patrol car s overhead lights and sirens and Mr. Fry failed to stop. Instead, he turned south on Benore Road and then onto Suder Avenue, where he accelerated to more than 100 mph. The officer stopped the pursuit, police said.

Toledo police received a call 13 minutes later notifying them of an injury accident involving a motorcycle at Suder and East Manhattan. Mr. Fry had crashed his motorcycle and was lying in a yard in the 3400 block of East Manhattan, police said.
