A young boy was temporarily stranded last night when he hid after trying to start a fire in West Toledo.
The boy, whose name and age were not released, climbed on beams under a foot bridge that leads to Greenwood Park. He was not hurt, authorities said.
Fire crews responded to a
5:37 p.m. call in the 1500 block of Brooke Park Drive, in which somebody reported having seen a boy trying to start a small fire, Battalion Chief Tony Gregory said. Two firefighters pulled the boy from the bridge, with water rescue crews standing by.
