Toledo fire investigators want help on cause of 2 blazes

7/5/2008

Toledo fire investigators are seeking information about blazes at two vacant houses in the central city last month, authorities said.

On June 11, firefighters responded to a fire at a two-story, wood-frame house at 1758 North Erie St. about 4:10 a.m.

The house was engulfed by flames when crews arrived and was later torn down, authorities said.

The following day, firefighters were called to a blaze at 302 East Streicher St. about 6 a.m.

Authorities said the house, which was built in 1897, likely would be demolished.

Anyone with information about the fires is asked to call the Toledo Fire Department at 419-245-1131 or the Crime Stopper at 419-255-1111.

Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
