CANTON, Ohio Eleven Ohio Highway Patrol troopers fired over cheating allegations have filed grievances to try to get their jobs back.

The troopers were among 12 officers accused of cheating on a certification test for a device used to gather evidence against intoxicated drivers.

The troopers were fired Sept. 8 and filed their grievances shortly thereafter. One trooper did not file a grievance.

Herschel Sigall, general counsel for the Ohio State Troopers Association, says he expects arbitration hearings to start in November.

Sigall says the union is seeking reinstatement and back pay for the fired troopers. The association also has recommended the 11 apply for unemployment benefits.
