SANDUSKY — A Waterford, Mich., man who authorities believe drowned in Lake Erie, just north of Kelleys Island, over the holiday weekend was identified Monday by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel Abel, 53, was found floating in the water at about 2 p.m. Sunday. His 26-foot Trojan boat was nearby.

Erie County dispatcher Chris Morris said authorities do not suspect foul play.

The body was taken to a funeral home in Port Clinton. An autopsy was expected Tuesday,
