Two men were shot in North Toledo on Sunday night and Monday morning in what appeared to be unrelated incidents, authorities said.

The injuries were not life-threatening, Toledo police said.

Amir Akl, the victim of the earlier shooting, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the legs, police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

The victim told police two men confronted him about 6 p.m. in the 2900 block of North Ontario Street and one of the two began shooting at him. The motive of the shooting was unclear, officers said.

The other shooting occurred at 12:30 a.m. at North Huron and Locust streets, also for unclear reasons, police said.

LaQuan Stuart was treated at Mercy St. Vincent for a gunshot wound to the arm, officers said.

He told police he did not know the gunman, according to police.

The incidents remained under investigation.
