LAMBERTVILLE -- Authorities are still seeking a suspect who shot into a Lambertville home, narrowly missing a man and his 5-year-old son who were inside.

The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of Hasen Drive near Summerfield Road in Lambertville, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. The names of the residents were not released.

The man told police a stranger had walked up to him, asking for directions. After the man answered, witnesses saw a white minivan driving in reverse toward the house, according to the sheriff's office.

The man then returned to his home and less than 5 minutes later, at least three rounds were fired through the front bedroom window into a room where the man and his 5-year-old son were at the time. The bullets struck an interior wall, police said.

Witnesses then saw the suspect casually walk toward the waiting minivan, which then drove down Summerfield. The witness told police the minivan was initially seen parked on Hasen at Summerfield, officers said.

Authorities described the suspect as black, in his 30s, about 5 feet and 9 inches tall, and about 160 pounds.
