MONROE — A man in a motorized wheelchair was struck by a vehicle Tuesday as he crossed Monroe Street at Jones Avenue in Monroe Township.

The man, 63, suffered what appeared to be minor injures and was treated at Mercy Memorial Hospital, said Sgt. Jeff Kemp of the Monroe County sheriff’s office.

He was westbound in his chair just after 4 p.m. The driver,70, was turning from westbound Jones to southbound Monroe.

He was thrown from his wheelchair.

She was cited for failure to yield. Their names were not released.

“She was going slow, thank God,” Sergeant Kemp said.
