Toledo police are asking for help in solving an apparent attempted robbery late last year in which a man was shot and killed and another was shot and wounded in East Toledo.

The shootings occurred about 2:50 a.m. Dec. 17 in the 500 block of Platt Street, in houses facing each other, Toledo police said.

Police responding to a report of a person shot arrived about 3 a.m. and found that Dana Frison, 38, of 512 Platt had been killed and James Lawrence, 19, had suffered a leg wound in the house at 511 Platt.

An attempted robbery is believed to be the motive in the fatal shooting, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
