Chest wound ruled cause of woman's death

A 23-year-old mother of two who police say was stabbed by her younger child's father during a domestic quarrel in South Toledo, died of a stab wound to the chest, authorities said Tuesday.

Dr. Diane Barnett, a Lucas County deputy coroner, released the preliminary results of an autopsy she performed Monday on Tiffany Wilborn

Ms. Wilborn, 23, was pronounced dead Monday at University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Dr. Barnett said.

The incident at 1527 Western Ave. occurred late Sunday night. Charles L. Toyer, Jr., 21, of the same address, is being held in lieu of $750,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Toledoan gets probation for stealing from seniors

A Toledo man was sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Tuesday to probation including time in jail for taking money from senior citizens for work he admittedly did not do.

Joseph Adamski, 43, of 1732 Arlington Ave. was sentenced to two years probation, including six months at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.

Judge Myron Duhart also assessed a $1,000 fine and ordered 80 hours of community service as well as full restitution to two victims totaling $16,100, which has been paid.
