2 Michigan residents arraigned after $30,000 in pills, codeine seized during Perrysburg traffic stop

Two Michigan residents were arraigned today after liquid codeine and illegal prescription pills valued at about $30,000 were seized from their vehicle during a traffic stop on I-75 in Perrysburg, authorities said.

Bonds were set $75,000 and $50,000 respectively for the driver, Remone Denham, 35, of Detroit, and the passenger, Chare Good, 25, of Romulus, Mich., during their arraignment via a video link at Perrysburg Municipal Court, a court clerk said. Mr. Denham was arraigned on four charges of possession of narcotics and five charges of trafficking in narcotics while Ms. Good was arraigned on five charges of each.

Ohio Highway Patrol troopers stopped a car for a traffic violation near mile post 193 on southbound I-75 about 12:04 a.m. and discovered that the occupants did not have consent to be in possession of the rental vehicle, according to the patrol’s Bowling Green post. A drug-sniffing dog then alerted troopers to three bottles of liquid codeine and 3,929 illegal prescription pills in the vehicle. The pills were 180 Xanax, 2,503 Hydrocodone, 90 Oxycontin, 1,002 Methadone, and 154 Alprazolam, troopers said.

The suspects were ordered held in lieu of the bonds pending preliminary hearings Thursday, without an option to pay 10 percent of the bonds and be released.
