BOWLING GREEN -- Bond was set at $75,000 for a rural Bowling Green woman charged with failing to get medical help for her infant son, who later died.

Rebecca Steinmiller, 25, appeared in Bowling Green Municipal Court Monday by video from the Wood County jail, where she has been held since her arrest Friday for endangering children.

The charge alleges she failed to contact law enforcement or seek medical attention for her 3-month-old son, Carter Steinmiller, for four days after discovering a serious injury to his arm. Young Carter died of yet-undisclosed causes May 5 at Wood County Hospital where he was taken after Mrs. Steinmiller told Wood County sheriff’s deputies her husband, Brian, found the child had vomited and was not breathing.

Municipal Court Judge Mark Reddin ordered that Mrs. Steinmiller have no contact with her husband. A preliminary hearing was set for May 21.
