A Toledo woman is being held in the Lucas County jail after fleeing from police and crashing her car into a fence surrounding a baseball field.

Emily Johnson, 28, of 180 Corinth St., is charged with failure to comply, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and drug paraphernalia. She is being held in the jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.

Police reported that, early this morning, a woman driving a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria fled from police, who were pursuing the vehicle with lights and sirens on. A court document states that the suspect disregarded several traffic signals during the pursuit.

The vehicle crashed into a fence at Joe E. Brown Park in North Toledo.

Once the vehicle crashed, the woman ran from the car, taking police on a brief foot chase. When police caught up, she tried to pull away, according to court documents.

Upon her arrest, police reportedly found that the woman had a crack pipe with her.

Ms. Johnson is scheduled to appear in Toledo Municipal Court for a continuance hearing on May 16.
