Coroner rules young mother was strangled

Preliminary autopsy results suggest that the young mother found dead inside her Parkwood Avenue apartment on Thursday died of asphyxiation due to strangulation, according to the coroner’s office.

Deputy Coroner Dr. Maneesha Pandey officially ruled the death of Jazmon Hoskins, 21, a homicide.

She added today that the woman had been dead for a few hours before her body was recovered.

Ms. Hoskins’ body was found before 11 a.m. inside 3122 Parkwood in the central city.

Thomas Ellison, 24, of Toledo, was arrested in downtown Cincinnati by the U.S. Marshals late Thursday.

Mr. Ellison, the father of Ms. Hoskins’ young daughter, is charged with murder.
