FINDLAY -- A suburban Detroit man was arrested early Tuesday for the gunpoint robbery of a Findlay convenience store and filling station.

Robert Reese, 30, of Belleville, Mich., was held in the Hancock County jail on a charge of aggravated robbery.

According to Findlay police, a robber wearing a black mask over his face entered the Imperial Marathon store on West Main Cross Street about 1:20 a.m.

The robber demanded cash and cartons of cigarettes from the clerk, who complied with his demands. The robber then fired several shots inside the store, although no one was injured.

Officers arrested Mr. Reese outside the station. Police said they recovered a gun from the suspect.
