Bomb squad responds to Springfield Twp. alarm

Authorities from Toledo's bomb squad determined that three aerosol cans taped together and left in a Springfield Township neighborhood Wednesday were not dangerous, officials said.

Authorities in the township received the report of suspicious containers in the 6400 block of Glenhurst at 9:32 a.m., according to the Lucas County Sheriff's Office.

Toledo police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said the bomb squad was able to determine the containers were inert. Authorities reported that residents of an apartment building who were evacuated were able to return home.
