House in East Toledo damaged by fire

Fire investigators said the cause of an overnight fire on Monday is under investigation.

A fire was reported at 207 Whittemore St. at 4:21 a.m. Firefighters, who found a blaze in the back of the house upon arrival, were on the scene until 5:17 a.m., according to the fire department.

The damage estimate was $5,000, fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld said. The report lists Jacqueline Forbes as the owner of the house.

The two-story, four-family house was built in 1907, according to Lucas County records.
