Body pulled from Maumee River
A body has been pulled from the Maumee River near Water Street and the Martin Luther King, Jr., Bridge in downtown Toledo.
Firefighters with Toledo Fire Department’s Water Rescue unit recovered the body in the river about 8 p.m. today after an employee of the Grand Plaza Hotel, 444 N. Summit St., saw something floating in the water.
Authorities released no further information. The body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s office, where an autopsy is to be performed Thursday.
