76-year-old Toledo man killed in head-on crash
9/4/2012PEMBERVILLE -- A Toledo man was killed when his car crashed head on into a pickup in Wood County.
John Bognar, 76, was pronounced dead at the scene after the collision at 4:47 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 6 west of State Rt. 199 in Freedom Township.
Mr. Bognar was westbound on U.S. 6 when his car veered left of center and struck the pickup driven by Merle Trumbull, 71, of Bradner, Ohio.
Mr. Bognar’s car stopped in the middle of the road, and Mr. Trumbull’s pickup went off the right side and into a ditch.
Mr. Trumbull was treated at Wood County Hospital.
The accident is still being investigated.
