Man dies after shooting in East Toledo

Toledo police confirmed today that the man shot in East Toledo Friday morning has died.

John Morris, whose age was not available, was shot several times as he walked from one apartment to another at Ravine Park Village, police said.

Police described the incident as a robbery, possibly orchestrated by three men. Descriptions of the suspects were not available.

Mr. Morris, of Toledo, was found unconscious in the apartment complex parking lot when police arrived on scene, in the 2300 block of Seaman Road, near Poplar Street, at about 3 a.m.

The suspect was shot in his leg -- likely striking his femoral artery -- his side, and had a graze wound to his head, police said. He was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and rushed into surgery, police said.

No arrests have been made.
